What is the AVID Binder?
The AVID Binder is a requirement for every AVID student. It is one of the tools for student academic success. AVID students learn the importance of keeping a neat, complete, and organized binder. We recommend that students purchase a 2-3” binder to house everything they will need during the school day. In the AVID elective class, the binder is checked weekly for organization and makes up a significant portion of the student’s grade – it’s THAT important!
What to have in your AVID Organized Binder:
- Zipper Pouch with school supplies
- 2 Pencils
- 2 Pens
- Eraser
- Pencil Sharpener
- Optional: Highlighter and Calculator
- Dividers for each content area or class
- Table of Contents and Academic Toolkit for each class
- Papers are organized chronologically
- Cornell Notes are included
- Binder Check sheets for grading organization
